that Mr. William Dobbs, Overseer, Public Works Department Hong Kong, died in March last while returning to the

Colony from leave of absence spent in New Zealand, and transmit herewith for the information of the Secretary

of State a copy of the letter conveying this information,

which we have received from Mr. Robert Dobbs a cousin of

the deceased.
